Cllr David Moore - Newark and Sherwood District Council (Beacon) and Town Council (Beacon)

The resounding success of our election campaign has left me awestruck and humbled by the confidence and belief that the voters of Newark & Sherwood have shown in myself, and our group of Independents.

To me personally, it is an opportunity to help grow Newark as a thriving market town and help grow Sherwood as a well-governed and well-managed district.

As a local business and shop owner, prosperity in Newark is paramount to the Towns' success as a destination for all, both visitors and aspiring residents alike.

In working with me,  people will discover an empathetic listener, someone who will fight in their corner whenever possible and someone who believes that everyone has a voice in our community.

Thank you for your votes. Now the work begins....”

ONE YEAR ON …

My first year has been busy, getting to grips with the minutiae of planning law and building good relations with the planning officers. Being Vice-Chair of the District Planning Committee has been a real learning curve for me, but very interesting, and being able to work under the very experienced Labour Chair, has been invaluable.

Casework for my ward residents has had its own challenges, but again, it is incredibly rewarding for me, and hopefully for the lives that are changed for the better. I'm looking forward to the coming years with sleeves rolled up and determination!

David Moore, working for a thriving, productive, greener Newark.
