Anna Rutkowska - Balderton Parish (Balderton South )

I have been a proud resident of Newark since 2014 when I decided to move here with my husband and our two-year-old son. Since then, our family has grown with the addition of another son and even a furry friend, our beloved cat. One of my greatest joys is spending quality time hiking with my boys, immersing ourselves in nature and creating lasting memories.

My educational background includes a BA in Education and a recent accomplishment of graduating with an MSc in Psychology from Lincoln University. At 36 years old, I firmly believe that learning and education should be lifelong pursuits, without any age cap. This belief has driven my personal and professional endeavours, including my role as the Managing Director and Founder of a community organisation dedicated to supporting Polish and migrant families from pregnancy to parenthood.

My passion for improving the lives of others is evident through my active involvement as a volunteer, particularly in supporting mothers and families. Recently, I have taken on the responsibility of a trustee at Millgate Community Centre, where I am dedicated to ensuring clean and safe spaces for our children.

As a mother myself, I understand the importance of providing nurturing environments for our youth. Through my efforts, I have successfully initiated new initiatives such as free baby groups and antenatal classes in Newark, facilitating vital resources for expectant mothers.

Additionally, I have bridged gaps between public health services and the Polish community, facilitating education on vaccinations and ensuring access to essential NHS services during pregnancy.

My commitment to the community extends beyond healthcare initiatives. I have actively participated in fundraising events, including supporting Newark Community Soup, where I prepared handmade traditional Polish soups for those in need.

As a community organiser, I believe in the power of unity and collaboration. I envision a Newark where opportunities for connection and sharing thrive, enriching the fabric of our town.

I am dedicated to being a voice for our community and will work tirelessly to ensure that every resident's needs are met and voices heard.
